So, spill it and give us some great examples.

Got to go with drama. I know it's the most general of them all, but when they are done right (JFK, Goodfellas, Pulp Fiction) there is nothing better.

You can't expect us to choose just one.
I picked Action... I love a good movie from any genre, but I can watch an action movie at any time, whereas I might not be in the mood for the others.

I'm going with drama, too, but only because it features my favorite sub-genre, the crime drama.
Most of the others are too subjective. Comedy, horror, action, etc.

Other. WAR. A good war movie has scenes of intense action but is NOT an action film. The Thin Red Line, Full Metal Jacket, Platoon, Gallipoli, Stalingrad, Come and See, Downfall, Saving Private Ryan, Paths of Glory, Das Boot...you get the picture.

I picked Horror. (Surprised? ) Obviously a movie from any genre has to be well executed to be good, but I find that usually movies that have horror elements tend to move me quite a lot. Of course, that only works when the director can find the right balance between the horror, the "scary" aspect, so to say, and the story telling. I guess my second choice would have either been action (I agree with Dirty, even bad action flicks are often entertaining) or drama - because when a story really, truly moves you, that's a great thing.

A story moving you is what a movie is supposed to do. Horror was my second choice especially cause a good horror movie is about the hardest to do.

Horror and comedy are pretty much the same, i guess. Just hard to do right.
