In 2010, I got to see Delta Blues singer Pinetop Perkins perform in Seattle, Washington. At the time, he was 96 years old but still played a hell of a piano. It is my favorite musical performance I have seen.
What musicians have you seen live and put on a great show?

Best gig ever - Stereo Mc's some time in the early 90's. When they played "Connected" the whole place exploded. It was by a lake somewhere in Sweden on a warm summer evening and the ground was shaking from everyone jumping up and down.
Awesome.
Another one that will stay with me forever is Rage Against The Machine. Early 90's again, at the Roskilde festival in Denmark. They had only their first album out so they pretty much played it end to end. Very energetic and loud as hell.
I was in the front row for Killing In The Name with my girlfriend on my shoulders. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about it. ;D
Most recent one (although not a band as such) was the stage production of Jeff Wayne's War Of The Worlds. Outstanding.
Also saw Pavarotti a few years back. While he was far from in his prime it was still great to see the big man on stage.
Metallica Groove Armada Faithless Underworld The Ramones
Mmm there's heaps.

Also saw Iron Maiden in the 90's on the Fear Of The Dark tour. They were ok but not as good as Anthrax who were the support on that tour. Scott Ian of Anthrax - awesome guitarrist. First concert ever? Bon Jovi - Slippery When Wet, 1987, Denver Colorado. Support band - Cinderella. (Remember them? No, me neither) ;D We had plans to go see Nirvana but Kurt Cobain blew his head off....

Scott Ian is amazing. The dude is one of my favorite musicians ever. And Anthrax, even with all the band changes, is good stuff.

IRON FUCKIN' MAIDEN! Just saw them last Saturday night...amazing...they get better with age.
Behemoth also puts on a hell of a live show, even with the singer/guitarist recovering from chemo.
IMO, Anthrax's last great album was "Persistence of Time." They never topped "Spreading the Disease." Honestly, I don't think Scott Ian's guitar sound is complete without Dan Spitz contributing leads -- but I'm an old-school thrasher...

I saw Underworld sometime late 90's, possibly early 00's at Brixton Academy.
Great gig.
