For me, his best is Rear Window. The worst, probably Frenzy or Family Plot.
While I thought Rebecca was excellent, and it's one of my favourite post-18th century novels, I felt Joan Fontaine was far too attractive to play Mrs de Winter, and it was something that I couldn't shake.
The Jimmy Stewart version of the Man who knew too much was good, but him and Doris made it seem rather more breezy than one would expect from Alf.
I also like Cary Grant in his films, but Jimmy Stewart has to win every time.

Now, I could never entirely get into Hitchcock. I've seen four of his, more of the well known ones. I don't like his way of doing things, but it's one of those things where the craft is very good. Basically, to me, he's the even more old school version of Stanley Kubrick (whom I feel the exact same way about).
I liked "Rear Window", I didn't like "Psycho" or "Vertigo" and I was mixed on "Strangers on a Train".

I need to watch more Hitchcock, to be honest. I really enjoy Rear Window though. Great acting, suspense and the sets. Beyond that and Psycho, I am afraid I am a little less knowledgeable.
