There are just too many great fucking movies from the 1980s to only pick 10. My faves in no particular order:
Aliens Raiders of the Lost Ark Back to the Future Nightmare on Elm Street The Lost Boys Romancing the Stone Time Bandits Heathers Mr. Mom The Terminator
Honorary Mentions: Spaceballs Breakfast Club/Sixteen Candles Fast Times at Ridgemont High Princess Bride Dream a Little Dream Overboard Fletch

Blade Runner Brazil Videodrome Evil Dead 2 The Road Warrior The Thing My Neighbour Totoro Blue Velvet Possession Akira
To many the 80s was the decade for over the top action films, for me it was the decade for bizarre horror and SF.

The inportant thing is that you have "The Thing" in there, Rob. It would be a virtual crime to not have it in there.

Really I have about 30 films in my top 10 of the 80s, so even if it wasn't there, it actually would be there. If you get me.

I understand the feeling. But, that's possibly the best horror movie of all time. Definitely the best paranoia movie ever, even over the original Manchurian Candidate and Invasion of the Body Snatchers '78.
