Let's be honest. EVERY movie-based site has this exact thread right now. Why should we be left out in the cold? Lol.
From anybody who's seen the trailer, do you also have a really tough time figuring out what Bane is saying? I mean, he talks quiet, in a deep voice, with an accent, through a mask. That's gonna be a toughie.

I wont judge yet, I haven't seen the opening scene that was released. Nolan usually doesn't steer me wrong, so I have no reason to doubt the guy. Like The Avengers, though, the marketing for this film doesn't have me hyped like I would want. I think that might be good though to keep expectations in check.

The trailer for The Dark Knight Rises is nowhere near as good as The Dark Knight! I know the film will probably be very good but I am not excited for it yet

Maybe that's a good thing. After all, it's still Jonathan and Christopher Nolan instead of Christopher and David Goyer (although I enjoyed Batman Begins more). Usually, it works out better this way but here's hoping.

The Dark Knight Rises is such a weird one for me - I know it will be a good film, probably the best of the summer, but I just can't get interested in it.
I hated that god awful non event of a teaser trailer that has been played for ages and the trailer just felt a bit flat. I don't doubt that there will be a few surprises in the film etc but there is just no excitement or anticipation from me at the moment.
Maybe I am too caught up in The Avengers and once it goes my attention will zone in on TDKR more.

There's lots of tentpole movies coming this year.
The Avengers. Battleship (gag). Men in Black 3. Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted. Prometheus. G.I. Joe: Retaliation. The Amazing Spider-Man. Ice Age: Continental Drift. The Dark Knight Rises. The Bourne Legacy.

Battleship? You mean Transformers 4?
Prometheus, I think, will be the biggest film of the summer. Best? Jury's still out. With Ridley, though, you know it will not be small or boring.
I still think The Dark Knight Rises has the best potential. That may only be because Nolan, in my opinion, has yet to make a bad film.
Hopefully this year will be better than last.

Of course I mean Transformers 4. What else did you think I was talking about? Sorry, I just thought it was a given.
You think Prometheus will be the biggest? My brain is telling me that Prometheus (despite likely positive word of mouth) will be fourth overall behind: The Dark Knight Rises, The Avengers and The Amazing Spider-Man.
It's probably a mistake to leave out the family movies, but their sales (for those series' specifically) has been in decline already.

There is something about Anne Hathaway that I can't stomach.
But I like the atmosphere of the films.

I doubted the casting of heath ledger as the joker when it was announced years ago. I have no doubt Tom Hardy will bring a good performance, but like flashes, I doubt Hathawag also. I just never liked Catwoman in general. I cant doubt Nolan, though.
Prometheus I think will either be the film that blows people away or is a huge misfire. It is written by the guy feom Lost, which scares me. Ridley, though, has a vision and will follow it through. Even his bad movies are something to behold.

So, it'll be like a finely-tuned 47 car wreck involving six tanker trucks carrying rocket fuel, eleven big rigs carrying new model cars, an actual tank and 3 Harrier jets?

Now, Hannah, what did Anne Hathaway and her stupid big face do to you?

They exist. Sometimes, that's enough.
It just makes me pissy that a movie that will be as stellar as I expect Dark Knight Rises to be (that sentence sounds weird) they chose someone as annoying as Anne Hathaway for the female lead. I mean, come on, I thought after Katie Holmes it couldn't get any worse. Then they had Gyllenhaal, and that was an awesome choice, I loved loved LOVED her in the movie. And now Hathaway. It's from bad to good to worse. Seriously, Charisma Carpenter would inspire more sympathy with me.
