Those are the first to come to mind.

Not a bad selection. Although I never understood the fuss about Magnolia. Might have to watch it again as I have it on dvd. Found it in a bargain bin for $2

Must not have been the special edition. But you're not alone in that one. A good portion of people agree with you.

Special edition hey... Hmmm Let me have a look. *scurries off to dvd collection* Well all it says on the cover is that it's a 2 disc set, and the running time is approx. 181 minutes. You mean to tell me that there's a longer version? As I keep my dvds in alphabetical order for easy access, it just so happens that Magnolia is located between Mad Max 2 and The Matrix. 2 GREAT movies which I watch regularly.

First time was around the time it came out on DVD, thought it was okay, obviously different, creative, well made and ambitious but lacking something. Second time was a couple of months ago and I was blown away, especially at how overwhelming the sadness and emotional arcs were. It's a great film.

Yes, Inception. It's no Memento but it's still good times.
Agreed about 12 Monkeys. Probably one of the best time travel movies ever.

Inception was great. I need to watch that again as well.

And Shutter Island.

The idea was great but the dialogue was a weak point (by comparison).

I don't remember much of the dialogue to be honest.

I can understand that. My response was basically because I don't usually watch movies to watch them anymore. I'm always lokking for arcs, subtext, payoffs, all that crape.
